Cincinnati, Ohio — July 22, 2026 — Elizabeth Maier today announced that she is concluding her campaign for Ohio House District 27. While her campaign is ending, her commitment to serving the community that has shaped her life remains unchanged.

“I entered this race because I wanted to serve the community that has given so much to my family for generations," Maier said. "I wanted to bring the perspective of a mom, business leader, and lifelong community volunteer to Columbus. Every conversation has reinforced my passion for a representative government and the idea that good public service starts by understanding real needs and solving real problems."

Throughout the campaign, Maier met hundreds of residents, listened to their concerns, and built relationships with people who share a commitment to strengthening the community. She expressed deep gratitude to the volunteers, supporters, friends, and family members who invested time, resources, encouragement, and confidence in her campaign.

As she reflected on the future, one conversation became especially meaningful.

“From the very beginning, I’ve said that family comes first,” Maier said. “The closer we got to November, the more I found myself wrestling with whether I could continue this campaign without compromising the priorities that inspired it. Recently, one of our children asked me a question that made me stop and ask whether I was truly living the values I’ve been campaigning on. I realized that if family comes first, it has to begin with my own. Our children are my greatest purpose, and they deserve the same commitment I’ve encouraged every family to make a priority.”

“Every season has a purpose. This isn’t the path I expected, but I have peace knowing it’s the right one for our family.”

Although her campaign is coming to an end, Maier said her commitment to service remains.

“My roots run deep in this community, and I will continue to support efforts that make it better. Public service takes many forms, and I look forward to continuing to serve in ways that allow me to remain true to the values that led me here."

Maier concluded by thanking everyone who supported her campaign.
